[Elecraft] N6KR's 4 MHz oscillator cal method for the K2 - Query

I had a mixed outcome with this method and have a query.
Question. Is it essential to run PLL on 40m AND CW normal AND FL1?

I have only recently completed s/n 3029 firmware 2.03d and did an =
initial
4Mhz alignment by zero beating the 15Mhz output in the vicinity of C22 =
with
WWV on 15MHz using a separate receiver. After aligning the filters =
with
Spectrogram 5 tried the N6KR method to get better dial accuracy.
At the start (2hr warm up) the dial read 9999.93 for WWV at 10Mhz. =
After
zero beating and adjusting the VCO and BFO to be different by 10000.00 =
using
CAL FCTR (mode LSB) and then running PLL on 40m the dial shifted to
10000.04. I then repeated the process and this time the dial read =
9999.50.
This was frustrating and a puzzlement. =20
Then noticed on p60 of the manual that is says when running PLL "select =
CW
normal and filter FL1" (no mention of this on p84 under VFO =
linearization).
Was this my problem? This time instead of just changing bands to 40m =
before
running PLL I checked to see I was on CW normal and filter FL1 too. The
result was then a dial reading of 10000.01
Was this my problem? Other possibilities?
