Hi, Folks,

A while back there was a discussion of power supplies that included supplies
from Samlex, Astron and others. I mentioned that I had a Kenwood KPS15 23
amp continuous supply. That supply was identical to a Samlex model. My
Kenwood supply failed. I wonder if anyone remembers the Samlex equivalent
model number and whether a schematic/service manual was available somewhere?

The weird thing is, I sent my failed supply to the Kenwood repair facility
in California as advised by Amateur Electronic Supply where it was
purchased. But the California Kenwood Repair Center don't fix the KPS15
because it is actually a Samlex Supply. I had to pay to have the Kenwood
repair center to send it back to me so I could send it to a different repair
facility in Washington State.

After many phone calls and a lot of postage, Kenwood sent me a new supply.
I believe the "broken" one which is in apparent mint condition (except for
electrical function) can be fixed if I had a schematic and/or service
manual. Can anyone point me to a Samlex schematic for the equivalent model?

BTW, If you have a Kenwood KPS15 Samlex power supply under warranty and it
breaks, call 1-800-561-5885 for a RMA and then ship to an address in Blaine,
Washington (almost Canada). DON'T ship it to Kenwood!

What a mess! Just buy the Samlex supply and save yourself the money up
front that the Kenwood name costs you! I still believe these are nice
little supplies well suited for the K2/100.

Many thanks for any help you can provide if we can come up with a schematic.
