You're right, Eric, except that the instruction on Page 43 applies to XV50
builders ONLY. 

Q6 is used on all versions of the transverter as you noted. That's why it's
been added to the part of the procedure common to all bands on page 32.

In the Rev. A-3 XV series errata, item 11 inserts the step for 
installing Q6 on page 32.  This step is already present in the manual on 
page 43, but the part is incorrectly identified as Q2.  Since it looks 
like Q6 is a part common to all three transverters, the step on page 32 
should probably be struck.
