[Elecraft] IF Amplifier Alignment

I am doing the IF Amplifier Alignment on page 61 of the K2 Manual.  Near the
bottom of the left column you are instructed to listen to the internally
generated CW signal at 7000 kHz and adjust L34 for best signal strength and
lowest noise.

Then is suggests that "you can use your DMM on AC volts at the speaker jack
for a more sensitive indication".

Am I correct to assume that I am looking for nothing more than a simple peak
in AC volts here?
