Since the arc probably occurs under the conditions of either
polarity, maybe it's more like the 500th harmonic of 120 Hz! ;-)
OR lower harmonic, depending on which phase(s) are arcing.
At any rate, it sure throws water on the article in the October
issue of CQ that emphatically states that power line QRN does
NOT occur at frequencies related to the AC line frequency...
