[Elecraft] ticking AGC on K2/100

I know this is going to be something stupid when I finally get to the =
bottom of it, but right now it's driving me nuts.  Every once in a while
(usually in the early morning) I notice a pulsing of the background =
noise.
If I switch out the antenna, its like a clock ticking at roughly 1 =
second intervals...kicking off the AGC..its present on all bands. If I =
switch over to my Omni V its not there. Now what stupid ham trick have I =
pulled on my K2/100 this time? Any ideas? Please...this is driving me =
insane. Other times everything is fine. Its not mearly an annoyance...it =
makes weak signal stuff difficult to copy.
