I turned off the DSP last nite and the distortion went away, hmmm. I looked
at the DSP settings and found I had the filter gain set to +2.0. I adjusted
the gain so that there was no increase in volume between DSP ON and DSP
BYPASS which resulted in a setting of -4.0. I can still fill the house with
audio and it's now distortion free.
Thanks to all who replied, there appears to be a lot of interest in audio
quality these days. Let me reinterate what I said at the beginning that if
you have a pre 3000 sn and don't have enough audio, I recommend the
"Alternative wiring for the K2's AF Gain Control" mod. I also finally had a
good look at my sn and it is 2884, not 2888.
