[Elecraft] Speaker Distortion

I recently installed the "Alternative wiring for the K2's AF Gain Control"
on my K2 sn 2888. I now have so much audio that the speaker "rattles" and
distorts the audio on a very strong signal. Headphones sound quality is
excellent. I tried a second speaker and the same thing happened. I'm not
tightening the speaker screws down hard as some previous post talked about
and the AGC is working though it doesn't have an adjustable R1 that the
3000+ sn's have. On weak and moderate signals, I can crank the audio all the
way up and the quality remains good. I'ts just on very strong signals that I
have problems. Do I need to install an adjustable 50k R1 pot in my AGC to
adjust out these strong signals? Any other suggestions? Do I possibly have 2
bad speakers? ..... Also .... for those who have the KPA100 and KAT100 in a
second enclosure, is there room on the front panel for a speaker?
