Hi Floyd,
Ah, the fun and challenge of adjusting L34. Search the Elecraft list
archive for "L34" and you'll get close to 300 hits! Buried in there is lots
of good advice on various methods for adjusting L34.
I used Spectrogram to adjust L34 in my K2 for the best S/N ratio. Search
for "L34 Spectrogram" in the list archive and you'll get just under 100
hits.
If you have the KSB2 SSB option board installed in your K2 and haven't
already done so, Wayne, N6KR, recommends installing the second crystal
filter mod which, among other benefits, will give you a somewhat more
noticeable peak when adjusting L34. Search the list archive for "L34
Spectrogram N6KR" to find Wayne's post from 1/3/02.
You can order the second crystal filter mod from Elecraft for $10. As an
alternative, there's an app note posted on the Elecraft Web site that fully
describes the mod. All you need is a resistor, a 2N2222 and a couple of
small caps.
73,
Bill...

When adjusting L34 on my K2, I found the peak to be very broad and not very
much of a peak at all. The slug is a bit higher in the can than mentioned
in the instructions. Does that sound normal?
