Hi John,
The K1 has a 3-digit display like the KX1 and displays its frequency in the
following manner. When you tap the Band button it displays the MHz for a
second, then the three least significant digits of KHz for a second, then
the three least significant digits of HHz (hectohertz or frequency / 10^2).
For example, if the frequency it set to 14,041,525 Hz, tapping the Band
button displays 14 for a second, then 041 for a second and then 41.5. I'm
assuming the KX1, with its similar 3-digit display, displays its frequency
in a similar manner.
I read through the KX1 info on the Elecraft Web site, and while it says the
KX1 has a 10 Hz tuning resolution with its DDS VFO, I didn't see anything
about the regarding the resolution of the frequency display.
I can only assume the KX1's frequency display resolution is 100 Hz as it is
with the K1.
73,
Bill...

A friend of mine is contemplating ordering a KX1 this Winter. He and I
are perplexed as to how it displays the frequency to within 10 Hz, yet
has only 3 digits. Would 7040.000 MHz show up as 000 on the display?
How would that display differ from 7050.000? Any enlightenment would
be appreciated.
