KX1 #112 continues to smash its way through the pileups in the CQ Worldwide
CW contest this weekend. Well, maybe smash is overstating it a
little...squeaking through might be a better term. One learns patience (and
how to use the memory keyer!) with QRP. But in the last 24 hours of
operation (not continuous by any means) I've made 34 contacts in all lower
48 call districts except W6, which I still haven't even heard yet.
Total countries worked in the contest thus far is 7...most notably England,
Poland and Canary Islands. I've also had a handful of German ops ask me to
repeat my call several times, but give up in the end...sigh!
Pretty impressive for using a 24 ft piece of wire strung around my bedroom!
Can't wait to wake up and get back on 20 metres!
73 for now,
