I don't know if the circuits are the same, but the KAT2 instructions say the
same thing. They go on to say if you'd rather, measure the resistance from
the wiper to ground on the forward power pot, and set the reflected pot to
the same resistance. If the pots are the same value, and the circuit
similar, this should be a more believable and comforting solution to the
same issue.
