Wayne's currently on a 1-week vacation (I think it's a vacation anyway).
However, I believe the K2 Keying Bandwidth Reduction Mod is being Field
Tested as I write this reply, or it'll go out to the FTs very soon efter
Wayne returns home. As soon as it's beaten up just a bit more, it'll be
made available to all. I currently have it in my K2 and I can SEE a
significant difference in the RF envelope waveform.

I think everyone will be happy with the results. The keying's not 'soft',
but certainly not as hard is it originally was. However, I must state that
I NEVER once received a key click report, and I've been on the air a LOT
with the K2 since Feb of '99. I'm certain that IF I ever did have clicks,
they're no longer present.

It'll be a simple mod, BUT will require a firmware upgrade, and depending
upon how old your current firmware is, it might also require an upgrade to
the IOC formware (on the RF board) as well. The mod's not difficult to
implement and requires only a few component replacements or additions.

73, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL ELECRAFTERS.
