[Elecraft] KX1 audio

Got my KX1 up and running, fixed a few bad solder joints etc. Am 
curious, I am testing it next to my NC20 and a SW labs DDS40  
both have a lot more audio power. The KX1 pulls out the same sigs 
but the audio is very low and hard to hear very little "hiss" but weak 
audio. is that normal and is there a hotter ic than the 386 that would 
give the audio a boost? With ehe NC20 and theKX1 I can hear the 
same weak sigs but on the NC I can rev up the audio to boost the 
whole noise signal  and all but the KX1 doesn't seem to have the 
audio punch.
  As an aside my s meter function seems to be non working 
also.Maybe connected?
