[Elecraft] K2 SSB Module Help

Hi again everyone!

I completed my K2 (#3716) a few weeks ago and it checked out just fine on
CW.  I had build the SSB Module along the way and followed the suggestions
not to install it until I was sure the K2 worked fine in the CW mode.

Today, I installed the SSB module.  All the numbers and tests checked out
fine until I got to the part on Page 19 where it says to "verify that
pushing the PTT button on the mic puts the K2 into the transmit mode"  on
SSB.  I am using the MH-1 Elecraft mic with all the jumpers properly
installed on the front panel board.  CW still transmits fine, but 5W into a
dummy load on SSB does nothing and produces no sound on a nearby receiver
when modulated.  SSB receive seems fine.

I feel that I am probably missing something simple here.  Aside from being
heard on another receiver, what is supposed to happen to "verify" that the
radio is transmitting on SSB?
