[Elecraft] rugged side panels that combine K2/100 and ATU

Hi,

 

I did some initial experiments with the K2/100 mobile and would love to
include the ATU100 as well.  I did some different experiments with different
mounting techniques. As it stands now, I would like to do the following:

 

1.	Combine the K2/100 and the ATU by making custom side panels that
reach across both devices. 
2.	Add a handle on each side for easier carrying, similar to this:

3.	I also want to position the K2 vertically, so I am thinking of
making the side panels 2" longer in the back. That way it could stand up and
the cables in the back are clear. 
4.	Use the handle on one side to "mount" this to the car. 

 

Couple of questions:

 

1.	Does anyone have comments on this "design"? 
2.	Where can I buy handles similar to the ones in the picture? 
3.	What kind of sheet metal is preferable?  Material and thickness? 
4.	Are the existing 2-D fasteners enough or should I add a couple more?

5.	where can I get the color that matches the K2's?
