[Elecraft] KX1- Operation - Zero Beat

How do you zero beat a station using the KX1? No need to desribe what =
zero beating is, but how do you generate a tone while still receiving a =
CW signal? When I turn on a 600hz sidetone using STP, the signal mutes. =
Is the KX1 different than the K1 in this regard?

This is a KX1 with 30M module and ATU installed. The little critter is =
amazing.
