[Elecraft] CW filter settings. What are yours?

Carl,

I like to set my CW filters at 1.2, 0.7, 0.4, and somewhere between 0.2 and
0.1 (I set it as narrow as I can before I start to get attenuation). I
seldom use the 1.2 except when I am calling CQ and it allows me to hear a
station a bit off my frequency - I usually use the 0.7 filter and tighten up
the passband only when I have to dig a signal out of the mud and noise.

If you would like additional information on setting up the filters and BFOs,
you can take a look at my website article on Dial Calibration -
www.qsl.net/w3fpr - Step 3 deals with setting up the filters and I have
included several links that will take you to places with more useful
information. If you are using Spectrogram (I recommend it), take a look at
the .pdf files on setting the filters that Tom Hammond N0SS has documented.
Spectogram 5.0 does the job nicely, and is the last freeware version - later
versions require registration if it to operate longer that 10 minutes each
time it is started.

Don W3FPR
