Thinking back to my CW training and -test isn't so hard, they happend only a
couple of years ago.

It was a good period, bringing my 2m station up to the level where I could
receive the daily lessons by Leen PD0MPL and attending every lesson besides
a busy job and family life. My wife Karin arranged matters in such a way
that the lesson hour was free for me. With two young kids this was no mean
effort. Leen had the perfect combination of knowing how to deal with his
over-the-air students, and beeing able to turn out near-perfect code with a
straight key.

The test was a special one in more ways than one: It was one of the last
ones in Holland taken at 12 wpm (receiving and sending with a straight key),
it was the first time I met my tutor and fellow students face to face after
some 11 months and it was the happy end of a 10 year period during which I
had tried to master the code.

I felt -and still feel !- very priviliged to have been part of his class,
I'm no speed wizard, still use a straight key, but can cope with a
reasonably wide range of code thrown at me, both in quality and speed.
