100% copy? I'm impressed. I probably had about 40% copy<g>. We had five
minutes of 20 WPM to receive, and then a 10 question, fill in the blank
questionnaire. I'd really muffeled the copy, but a question was:

 Occupation:

All my hen-scratching had that was readable was "mber".

Figuring I'd recovered before they could have sent "Lumber Salesman" and
failing to think of any occupation other than "Plumber" with those letters
in it, I guessed, and they actually let me have WG4S!

This was the early 80's. No sending test then.

I was glad to be rid of N4GMN - A real mouthful on fone, and not too musical
on CW either. I did miss the code practice sessions. We'd gather around a
pitcher of Beer at the Stein Club (on the strip in Atlanta near 10th) with
the keyer sidetone on and send code to each other. It took a lot of beer to
get to 20! KR4W (already Amateur Extra), N4FBN and me, big fun!

ps: We both (N4FBN and I) passed.
