K2 No. 3722 now completed in basic form (no options yet fitted) but I have a
couple of queries.
First off, the TX current for 5W o/p on 40 and 80 is, at 3.5A, rather higher
than that suggested in the manual. Is this common?
I have not yet got round to going over the LPFs (again) but what else should
I be looking at?

More annoyingly, the synthesiser "clucks" at each step (not just the 5KHz
points) with the "cluck" getting worse with increasing received signal. I
seem to remember this happeneing in Yaesu 290 and 480 and it indicating that
the synthesiser reference volts were astray. The alignment has been checked
and double checked and the only thing that is outside spec. is the AGC
voltage which cannot be persuaded up to the recommended starting setting of
3.8V. 3.2 is the best I can get, and I don't see how this could have any
bearing on the matter.
Has anbody else experienced this 'hen roost' effect and if so how was it
dealt with?
