[Elecraft] Battery operation on the K2

Ok gurus .... here is my dumb question of the day.  I want to charge up 
the internal battery in my K2. Do I need to leave the switch for the 
internal battery on the back panel of the K2 in the on position during 
charge or off? The "Caution: ..." paragraph has me a bit some what 
confused. I have the power supply set to read exactly 14 volts per the 
front panel LCD with the K2 internal voltage supply, but I am a bit 
confused about weather the thing is charging ...?
 I have completed the building of  K2 #3776, I will post a complete 
report later today... when I am fully awake. I sat up till 3 AM just 
listening to it. Threw a "junk box special" antenna together last night 
and am totally amazed at how sensitive this radio is...even inside my 
concrete bunker house!
