[Elecraft] RS232 Trouble

I finished the KPA100 about ten days ago and it is working very well.
Today I decided to make up the RS 232 cable and hook it up.
Unfortunately, the RS 232 in the KPA100 does not seem to work.

I am trying to use it with WIN EQF.  I set up the program according to
the instructions in the KPA100 manual.  I double checked the cable.  The
connections are correct and there is continuity on the right pins.  The
K2 port is turned on.  But I get an error message from WIN EQF saying
Bad Response from Rig (Last Response EMPTY).  It looks like the K2/100
and the computer are not communicating.

The trouble shooting section in the KPA100 pertaining to the RS232 is a
bit sparse.  I sure would appreciate any suggestions as to where I might
go from here.
