[Elecraft] Unable to mate front panel to FP board due to mic connector bead size

Hello,

I'm just in the process of building K2 #3500 and I encountered a problem 
during mating the front panel to the front panel board:

It is not possible to fully mate both parts because the microphone 
connector bead has an outer diameter of  approx. 6/8" (18.5 mm) and the 
front panel microphone connector hole has an inner diameter of approx. 
11/16" (17 mm). Anybody encountered this problem yet, is it a known 
problem and what is the solution?
