Hey Gang,
Was a perfect day on Tuesday. Got my K2 kit in the mail, and my set of
Schurr Profi-2 paddles came in. I'm going to start the build tomorrow,
as I'm off work until Tuesday. Not going to rush through it though. BTW,
I went ahead and ordered the internal ATU as well. Hope to get it done
before I leave for WI on the 9th.
The question that I have is this. I would like to replace the sockets
that came with the kit with Mill-Max machined sockets with gold contacts
and sleeves. I know that this is probably overkill, and I'm sure that
the AMP sockets that came with the kit would work just fine, but I have
a bunch of brand new ones from another project. These sockets tend to be
very reliable down the road. BTW, I'm not talking about socketing IC's
that don't require a socket, just the ones that came with a socket (CPU,
LCD Driver etc.). Does anyone see a problem with this? Sounds like a
silly question, but I'd rather ask than have something bite me in the
butt!
Thanks...
