[Elecraft] Nearby Strong Signal Mod

Hello Rich
I've run my K2, s/n 12, on FD for the 4 FD's with absolutely no problem
from stations on the other bands around me. I work 40 cw, and sometimes
get a little flack from the 40m ssb station when we install our antennas
too close together. With a decent antenna separation, even the 40 ssb
station is not a problem.

In our case, our whole FD site is QRP, so don't have a kW station on an
adjacent band. If your setup is QRP also, don't sweat it. Just go and
have fun.

Lyle, thanks, makes sense. Still I do have adjacent band ie: me on 20m CW,
nearby station on 15m CW causing QRM. I'm concerned that during FD, I'll get
wiped out by the other station on different bands.Rich

The mod is for *on frequency* strong signals. In other words, tune in
another station whose antenna is next to yours and who is running some
power - the kind of signal that pegs your s-meter and makes your ears hurt.
In this case, the distortion of that really strong signal will be reduced
and it will sound normal. Loud, but normal.

This is really for the HF pack guys who net on one frequency and stroll
around the same hamfest :-)

It has no effect on nearby stations (QRM), only on ones you have tuned in.
