[Elecraft] direction-switching Moxon Rectangle & KAT2

I am contemplating making a direction-switching Moxon Rectangle antenna as
Cebik described in the June 2000 QST.
Since I would like to keep this as simple and inexpensive as possible I
thought of just running two feed lines back to the KAT2. Cebik states that
the stubs need to be 65 ohms inductive, and suggests using shorted coax. He
also warns that the shield of the stub should not be connected to the shield
of the line feeding the antenna. Looking at the KAT2 it appears that the
antenna switching relays leave the line of the unused antenna port open.
This should not be a problem. I will just need to calculate the stub length
for an open-ended stub. Since the ground of the two ports is tied together
this may be a problem. Is there any way to make this arrangement work for
switching the direction of the Moxon Rectangle?
If I make a remote switching box it would be nice to use latching relays and
feed the power through the coaxial cable. Can anyone describe how to do
this? The latching relay sound looks like the hard part.
Thanks for the help.
