The push buttons should be OK. There is an adjustment later. I think
you are normal at this stage.

Subject: [Elecraft] Front panel not aligning...
Hi guys,
Having a ball putting this puppy together. I finished the control board
without a hitch. Display board, well, one of the ICs I put in backward
(was on the dang phone.. note to self... no phone calls during
construction). Had a great time getting it back out (U3). I have it put
back in place properly, however, I hope I did not put too much heat on
it when I tried to desolder it (the IC was never too hot to touch... but
it got pretty darn warm).
Anyways... the real reason I am writing is that it seems that the front
panel and the front panel board do not align properly. All the
switches, displays, and dials line up to the holes, however, the mic
connector seems to be to high which makes the push buttons above it not
protrude out of the panel. I double checked, and the mic connector is
seated all the way onto the board. Also, the spacer fits snug under the
push buttons and all of them are the same height.
Did I get a mic connector that is too high?
