Dave,
Am quite new to this reflector (Elecraft) and am still learning how to use it properly. I noticed in your reply to Richard Kim that you were using a Force 12 Sigma 5 at ground level. Would appreciate your comments on this antenna.
I have a Mosley tribander up about 30' but windstorms have caused it to be stuck in one position. I have been wanting to take it down anyway in an effort to simplify both the antenna situation and rig also (I have an Icom IC-756 PRO and have hopes of selling it although it is in excellent condition). I am in the process of moving to the Elecraft K-2/100 which is kindly being built for me by David Ball, NR1SS/5 because of my age (76) and eye problems (I can see o.k., but not well for close work).
All this leads to the fact that I wish to put up (perhaps on the 30' tower) a vertically polarized antenna that would cover 20M-10M (and maybe even 6M). I was considering a Cushcraft R6000, but saw some reviews critical of it's quality and bending due to wind and we do get some pretty strong winds here in Colorado Springs. I have seen some positive comments about the Force 12 Sigma 5 and would appreciate your opinions about that antenna or any others about which you might have some thoughts
I am sending a copy of this through the reflector in the hopes that there may be some others who will read this and make their opinions known about a vertical antenna for 20M-10M (or 6M).
73,
Tom, W2TJO
