[Elecraft] Trouble Again!

I had this problem a couple weeks after succesfully building my K2 #3421. I
can't really explain what happen except to tell you what I did.
I reheated all of the solder connections for the componenets built around the
PLL oscillator circuit (including the PLL chip and X1). My receiver was still
'dead', until I took an MFJ-259B and ran it's output (inductively coupled) into
the input of the PLL (trying to simulate the 12MHz signal the crystal
oscillator was supposed to be producing). When I did that, I could start to
hear signals on the band (my radio PLL was also producing 400 kHz output as
measured on the display), and when I pulled the 12MHz signal out of circuit,
the whole thing was working fine. I haven't had a problem since (and hopefully
won't have any...)
I can't explain why the reheating of the joints didn't correct it immediately.
I can't explain why inserting a signal into the PLL jumpstarted the crystal
oscillator.
I just know that it works now.
