[Elecraft] K2 keyer problem

Check:
the paddles: are both sides really closing? Use your ohm meter.
the connections to the stereo plug; try shorting the connections with a clip
lead to ground.
the stereo jack itself: are the swipes making proper contact
the solder connections to the jack and to R1 and R2 on the RF board.
finally, use a 220 ohm resistor and touch it between pin 29 and ground and
then between pin 30 and ground of U6 on the control board. If you
don't get dots when connected to pin 29 and dashes when connected to
pin 30, then there is something wrong with U6. Check that it is
properly installed and seated.
If you do get dots and dashes with direct connections to U6, then start
tracing back from these pins to P3 of the control board and back
through J8 of the RF board back to the key jack.
