The Receiver alignment is just to get you in the ball-park. The =
transmitter
alignment (peaking for max output power) will align both transmitter and
receiver. I have the 4 band filter board and the same capacitors are =
used
for both receiver alignment and transmitter alignment. (2 band filter =
uses
the same coil for RX/TX.)=20
I did find that using "Spectrogram" to get the bandbass in the right =
area
made the CW sound much better. After following the directions for the
Coarse BFO Alignment and Fine BFO alignment, although the tone of the =
signal
was correct, the tonal quality of the bandpass did not satisfy me. I
connected the audio to my PC and with a marker at my desired CW tone
frequency, adjusted C20 so that the bandpass was centered around the CW
signal which was centered on the frequency marker. (In my case 750 Hz.)
Sounds much better now.

Hi Guys, Fired up my K1 last night (rx only, tx not done yet) can't =
believe
it all works fine exactly as the book. VFO adjusted OK but now I need to
align the receiver. I have a xtal marker (every 2.5khz) do you think I =
could
use this for alignment. Also I have a 20meg scope, would this be any use
instead of my ears? if so where would I connect it?
Any thoughts? Martin (M0KWV)
