[Elecraft] Does AGC level change effectiveness of KNB2?

Maybe it's just me.  My KNB2 is effective against man-made noise just some
of the time.  But, I can improve my chances of getting it to stop noise by
switching the preamp on or off or turning on the attenuator.  It seems the
KNB2 needs a narrow range of input level before it kicks in.

I wonder if the effectiveness of KNB2 is determined by the AGC level.  Mine
is set low so that AGC on or off shows little difference in background
noise.  I have R1 set at 3.458V.

Does the AGC level change the effectiveness of the noise blanker?
