Did you try the rubber pads underneath the Astron as a couple of folks here
have suggested?
The noise would be a pain.  Seems to me a power supply should be seen and
not heard, or even unseen too.

  For what It's worth.
  I have both the 20 and 35. The 20 is nice and quite. The 35 is so loud
that I returned it twice for exchange to the dealer. I wanted to return the
last one for exchange but the dealer said no. The 35 hum is very loud. I
have mine almost 5' away from me. At 5' the sound is OK. Having to place the
35 so far away means I have no flexibility in my station set up. It's a
Pain. Of course if you are hard of hearing go for the 35.
