I agree 100%. I would like to see 5 ms rise/fall times. This will be
readable at up to at least 60 wpm (for those who can read 60 wpm,
anyway). It will not sound mushy, and it will reduce the b/w
significantly. The K2 is better than most currently manufactured
equipment (CW waveshapes are published in QST reviews), but why
shouldn't it be perfect?
Another CW issue that should be addressed is the 'jitter' in weighting.
Put a scope on the RF output and send a string of 30 wpm dits with an
external keyer. Every second or two the duration of the dits is reduced
significnatly, I suppose due to the CPU being busy. Note that this
1) Affects both the sidetone and the RF output, and
2) Is a problem with an external (as well as the internal) keyer.
