[Elecraft] AGC problem

   I now have my K2 up and running but I have noticed (originally on 20 
m) that while tuning  up the band, it seems to hit dead spots. Checking 
further I found this on other bands.
Next I found that turning the AGC OFF the recvr was dead on all bans 
with the RF gain fully CW.  The signal increases as it should as the RF 
gain is increased and then goes dead. I have to back off the RF about a 
1/4 turn to get it to come to life.   With the AGC on and RF fully CW, 
there are various dead spots extending some distance.  Actually I think 
it is not distance on the dial but signal strength that triggers it to 
come to life agn.

Has anyone else had this experience or can any body direct to the 
problem area?  By the way, R1 is set at 3.90v  Thank you.  Earl, VE3VI
