[Elecraft] extreme signals

Thanks to several for replies.  Back-to-back diodes across rcvr =
front-end would apparently degrade several aspects of receiver in =
undesirable ways, and it already has a 1.8K 'bleeder" resistor across it =
to protect the front-end.

I installed Wayne's mod in the AGC.  it works very well.  I can tune =
across an adjacent 100 watt signal and it sounds no louder than any =
other S-9+20 signal.  In fact, ALL signlas are so limited.

tuned off frequency, the AGC pumps with the strong signal making weak =
signals uncopiable, but signals over S-7 that are pulsing the AGC anyway =
are copied fin even as close as two khz.

I wanted this mod because on some portable occassions we may have =
several radios set up in nearby radius, sometimes different owners/cll =
signs, so may find "Jack" operating his K1 on 20 meters at the same time =
I am operating my K2 on the band.  A simple mod to prevent hearing loss =
