This is an excellent evolution of the rules. I especially like your time related points idea. This makes sense. But it does also let us slower folks get more points :) I
know I can use over five minutes for a simple exchange even when I do remember to push the right message button.
I had fun during the contest even though I listened for >99% of my time. I was stuck at my desk writing my thesis. I did work 50% more folks than I had intended.
I wanted to make two contacts but wound up making three. If someone hadn't transmitted on top of one of my exchanges I would have gotten 100% more than I
had intended. When they just started transmitting I sent QRL a few times but they paid me no heed.
I think we could set aside one day a month (on a weekend) for the an Elecraft chat. No points just contacts between K1 & K2 owners. People who do not have an
Elecraft radio can enter the fray to hear about our fine rigs and how much fun they are to build.

the contest. In other words, do your first qso with battery power, get 25 bonus points and then turn on your power supply for the next 23 or so hours but do not
recharge your battery at the same time. Also, as has been pointed out by others, "real" QSOs and not just wham, bam, 599 are intended, but not supported by the
rules. With this in mind I would like to suggest changing the rules as follows. I hope these changes will clear up some of the unwanted quirks without damaging the
fun, look and feel of the EQP
