[Elecraft] Elecraft RIT with built-in offset.

My RIT has the same problem. I 'solved' it by wrenching the knob a few
degrees to the left and re-tightening, but am now thinking that the serial
port could be the answer. What would happen if the RIT knob was physically
centered (with it's offset non-zero), and the RIT CLEAR command sent via
serial port? Would it remember this new electrical zero at next power-up?

I'll try this technique and will advise.

Subject: [Elecraft] [K2] RIT question

Hello.
I have finished to build my K2 #3249.
Except of 12 meters band, which still doesn't work, all work perfectly.
However, I have a question about the RIT function.
When I place the RIT potentiometer in its middle position (0) and I push RIT
button I have an offset of about -500 Hz. So, to have the same reveicer
frequency with or without RIT, the potentiometer has to be turned CW of
about 1/4 turn.
Is the center position settable ?
Thanks, 73
