[Elecraft] Hello & a question

Hello all,
I am waiting for my K2, mailed payment 3/7/03.  I chose the K2 because I =
became so impressed with Elecraft as I found not one negative thing said =
about them or the K2, and because I grew up in the Heath kit era, I =
wanted to start my ham career with a kit (new tech with general credit =
on 1/8/03).
While I wait for the rig, I am setting up the assembly area to build the =
K2, and then I will be rebuilding tube radios from days gone by to help =
pay for the next kit.
The question I would like to know is, how important is static control =
with solid state kits? Are static mats and wrist straps a must or is =
just being careful adequate? =20
