I concur with Pat, plus a couple of other comments.
If you want to enable your setup to be accessed remotely by name, then use
the services from someone like www.dyndns.org. They will grant you a name
that you can use to attach to your home setup, even if the home setup IP
address changes. The name will be something like m3cjf_remote_k2.homedns.org
Also, you can nearly always configure your home firewall to allow a route in
from the outside to your K2 server. Some firewalls will even work with
dynamic DNS servers such as dyndns.org and update your ISP's granted IP
Address.
I would also recommend that you use a PC that does not matter if it gets
trashed from an outside intruder. If I have a PC configured in this way, I
pre-save my disk onto CDs using Ghost, so it is a matter of minutes to
restore the PC back to it's pristeen state.
I do this kind of stuff all the time, if anyone wants more info or
clarification, just email me.
Regards,
Tony
All mail in and out checked lovingly by hand, character by character.
