Hi all,

K2#3465 freshly finished and OTA. Pretty few contacts
using 5 watts into a large wire delta loop. Mostly 40
and 70 meters single hop (ssb). Heard a KH booming
into MD on Sat. Night but couldn't't raise him (pity!)
Receiver is incredible! Could easily copy people
through close and loud QRM! Incredibly quiet
receiver! Were conditions bad or is it just hard to
compete with QRO stations? Will I need a beam to be
heard QRP in contests? Are there specific Freqs where
QRPers hang out for FD or otherwise? Are there QRP
contests throughout the year? Look for me from the
Outer Banks, NC July 5th through 10th whenever I can
get OTA. Probably evenings. Going to take a CB whip,
Hamstick dipole mount, two 17 meter hamsticks, C-clamp
and other goodies. I'll try to set up from the 3rd
floor condo balcony or maybe go down to the beach and
try if I have to. New to QRP but I like a challenge!
Thanks for any info or tips! 73, Rick N3IKQ
