[Elecraft] Mineral spirits OK for cleaning boards?

An Elecraft kit is not a mil-spec nor NASA product.

If acetone scares you to death, then I suggest you go read:

It occurs naturally, and you actually produce in your own body during the
breakdown of body fat.

Small amounts of acetone are not particularly harmful, and will not harm
the PCB nor destroy the environment.
It will damage some plastic parts and should be used with care, in small
amounts.

Just don't panic. Everything has its proper use and place.
