[Elecraft] Mineral spirits OK for cleaning boards?

Ok I'll jump in with my 2 cents

When I feel the need to clean a board I use a a freon (though getting
harder to find) based cleaner followed by 91% isopropyl alcohol.

In some cases even soap and water (had an old timer teach me this one)
and rinse well with water, then use a hair dryer to dry it.

I have never had a problem this way.

I've cleaned every thing from flux, smoke, dirt, to flood slime off of
boards with out any problems.

The biggest problem I've seen is people only half cleaning the board
and that is where the white residue comes in.

The flux is made from Pine Sap if I recall correctly so you only need
something strong enough to dissolve that.

91% isopropyl alcohol does a good job just don't be Skippy with it (Use
plenty) and scrub it up with a toothbrush (preferably not one that has
been used for other things).

Then rinse it good and let it dry in a well ventilated area (I prefer
to do the entire cleaning outdoors).
