I bought a Palm Paddle right after the Dayton Hamvention (Tried to buy one
at Dayton but could not find a vendor selling them).

The base plate that comes with the palm can snap to the bottom or the side
(or the top for that matter) so you could mount the plate to the side of
the rig.

I bought mine for use with my K1 and so far just hold the paddle in my hand
as I would rather sit back and work away from the rig. I do like the
clipboard idea!! I may have to try that one. You can order replacements
bases for the paddles so you could have one mounted to each rig you use.
They also sell rare earth magnets that fit in the base plate to stick the
key to a metal surface (Is the K1 case aluminum?) I don't have the
magnetic base so can't speak to its holding power.

Good luck and if you think of a new clever way to mount the paddles to the
K1 bring it to the list.
