FW: [Elecraft] K2/100 -RS232 problem

Hi Eric. Gary got back to me with some suggestions on tracing the signal
from the pc through the K2. Turned out I had a bad solder joint at P4 pin3
on the Control Board. It looked shiny, but I guess I didn't leave the iron
on the joint long enough.
The K2/100 is buttoned up and working fine.

The only thing left to check out is the noise blanker. Need to get some
noise to see how it works.

Tnx for the help.

Tony

Sounds like the K2 Hyperterm is hearing the K2 OK. The K2 does not echo any
characters sent to it. (You can turn on local echo in Hyperterm).

To see if the K2 is hearing characters sent to it, try sending it a serial
command like FA; You should get the same FA frequency response you got with
the test set up.

Also make sure hyperterm has the comport set up -not- to use hardware
handshaking.
