Are you sending SW01; or SWO1; i.e. capital O or number 0(zero)?

One other thing to check - measure the voltages on pin 2 and 3 at the cable
before plugging it in and after plugging it in. The TxD from the PC
shouldn't change a lot. Bitter experience also suggests check, double check
and triple check the pin connections. Took me 2 days to find a problem with
the KIO2 that was down to me wiring the cable incorrectly!

If the K2 is responding to the test command things look promising so it may
be a bad connection. Check the ground connections also.

You've probably done most of this already but it doesn't hurt to check again
