[Elecraft] K2/100 -RS232 problem

The K2/100 working fine, except for the RS232 interface. I tried running
from K2 Remote, CTWin and DXBase 2004. I also have a TS950SDX which runs
fine from CTWin and DXBase.
I am using COM2 on the pc. I have ohmed out the lines from U4 in the KPA100
to J8, through the cable to the end that plugs into the pc. Everything seems
okay.
Is there a way I can verify I am getting the correct signals on pin 2 and 3
of J8?
Any suggestions appreciated.
