Well after a rather interesting 3 or 4 weeks, I got my K2 on the =
air...thanks to the great support from Gary at Elecraft and an excellent
and comprehensive manual. I managed to fry U2 on the front panel board, =
which is one of the 2 chips that runs the buttons, and that took a while =
to run down, but Scott shipped me out another chip....popped it in =
yesterday and EUREKA!! all my buttons were back! I aligned everything =
and installed the heatsink...and it WORKED!! and beautifuly I might add.
My first contact was WA3WAW on 40 meter CW who was running HIS K2 and =
had just finished his new DSP unit. (which he was raving about, =
incidentally)
Thanks to everyone on the list who encouraged me and helped me =
along the way and everyone at Elecraft. This has been a fantastic =
experience. And what a radio!! Haven't been able to tear myself away =
from it since I finished.
