[Elecraft] question on Heil hand mics for K2

As a sound engineer I have been consistently under impressed with Heil's 
products.

the HM2 is simply a $3 electret Condenser capsule mounted in some foam. you 
would do as well  with a computer microphone capsule mounted in foam in an 
old CB mike (for the PTT switch)

You could also adapt an old Motorola hand mic for the K2, these are based 
around an electret Condenser capsule, include audio tailoring (RC high pass 
filter)  produce excellent communications grade audio, have plenty of 
output to drive the K2 and are very robust.

I made up my own headset using a decent pair of headphones and an electret 
Condenser capsule along with some audio tailoring (circuit copied from an 
ICOM hand mic ). It works very well with both my k2 and my Icom 756 pro2
